"I didn't plan to start a brand. I just couldn't stop making things."
I remember holding it up to the light for the first time — turning it slowly, watching the colors shift. There was something in it that felt alive. I couldn't explain it, but I couldn't put it down either.
That moment stayed with me. And somewhere between that stone and the next one, CAMMEO was born — not as a brand, but as an obsession. A quiet, persistent need to take something the earth made and give it a shape, a purpose, a home.
Every design starts with a question — not about shape, but about a person. Who should wear this? And how will it reach them?
Sometimes the answer comes fast. Other times I sketch and sketch until something becomes clear. I've drawn designs I never made. And I've made pieces without a single sketch. But there's always a moment where something clicks — where the stone and the idea find each other.
And sometimes the story starts with the stone itself. I see it, it catches me — I don't know why, I just feel it. I pick it up with no idea in mind. And slowly, it starts to shape itself — it tells me what it wants to become. That's often the piece that ends up being the best seller.
"The design didn't start on paper. It started with a feeling."
Natural stones aren't just pretty — they're honest. Every crack, every color shift, every imperfection is the earth's handwriting. You can't fake that, and I would never want to.
I spend a lot of time choosing stones. More than people probably think. Because the stone isn't just part of the piece — the stone is the piece. Everything else just holds it.
"I'm not a jeweler. I'm someone who collects stones and figures out what they want to become."
I make everything by hand. Not because it's trendy, but because I genuinely can't picture it any other way. When you make something with your hands, you feel every decision — every knot, every clasp, every millimeter.
That care shows up in the piece. You might not always be able to name what's different about it, but you feel it. And that feeling is exactly what I'm trying to put in every single thing I make.
"Mass production makes things. Handmade makes them mean something."
We use only genuine natural stones — never synthetic, never imitation. What you wear is exactly what the earth made.
Every piece is made by hand, start to finish. No machines, no shortcuts. Just patience, skill, and a lot of care put into every detail.
We never mass-produce. Each piece is made in small numbers — sometimes just one. Because when everything is special, nothing is.
"I make things for people who notice the details — who pick something up and feel the difference."— CAMMEO, Handmade in Egypt
